Is Alteri a brokerage?
Yes. Alteri is a general, life and living benefits insurance brokerage. Our agency holds contracts with several different insurance companies to ensure all our clients are able to get the best possible coverage and price for their insurance.
Where is Alteri located?
Our Vancouver office is in Yaletown at: 1110 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2S2 (Unit 305).
Do I need an appointment to come to the office?
No, you do not need to book an appointment; however, we advise calling ahead of time to ensure that the appropriate agent is there for your desired product discussion. You can call our office at 604-564-5994 and press ‘0’ for reception.
What kind of Insurance does Alteri sell?
Since we are a general insurance agency, we offer our clients a variety of products and services. We provide coverage and advise on personal lines and commercial lines. A direct link to all of our products can be found here. We do not sell ICBC coverage.
How can I make changes to my policy?
If you are currently a client of Alteri, then you can simply email us any changes or endrosements that need to be made at info@alteri.ca; however, if you are working with an agent then you should email or call them directly to assist with any updates or changes.
Can I move my current policy over to Alteri?
If Alteri is contracted with the same insurance company that you are currently with (via your current broker), then yes we are able to assist. Please note that we try to avoid assigning existing pieces of business over to the agency for compliance purposes.
How can I pay for my policy?
Alteri offers a variety of ways to pay for your coverage, all of which can be found here. In some instances, insurers are required to pay the insurance company directly. If this is the case, then the payment type will vary from insurer to insurer.
How do I cancel my policy?
We can cancel your policy at any time. To start this process, you can email us at info@alteri.ca, or you can email your designated agent. We will be sending you our internal cancellation form, which will need to be completed and signed for cancellation. Note that different insurers have different rules on refunds and monies retained.
Can I re-instate my policy once I cancel it?
No. Once a policy is cancelled, or lapsed, the coverage must be re-written. Often times, the current insurer that just experienced the lapse or cancellation will not allow the coverage to be re-written with their company.
Can Alteri explain what I currently have in place?
Yes! We pride ourselves on educating clients on what they need and what they have. Sometimes, we experience clients that have excellent coverage in force that we do not wish to alter; however, we always do our best to explain the risk exposure and the best product to protect it.
How can I file a claim?
Every insurance company has a different process for claims handling and processing; however, regardless of how these companies manage their processes, it is important to contact your broker first. By doing so, we can assist and make sure that your claim is handled efficiently and effectively.
