Joshua Krenus

Joshua took a long and winding road to becoming an insurance executive. Born and raised in Surrey, Mr. Krenus went right into the family’s construction business out of high school. At Common Ground, he was able to learn and experience every angle of small business from staffing and budgeting to projecting and strategy.

In 2012, after four years in the family business, Joshua decided to start his own company. With a passion for cars, Mr. Krenus began handing out flyers in the Shaughnessy neighborhood of Vancouver offering mobile detailing services – a few months later, Krenus Detailers supported three staff and had made their first acquisition.

Although detailing was an amazing experience, Joshua felt he needed to grow as an entrepreneur, and the only way to do that was to change fields. One of his detailing clients was Colin Brown, founder and COO of Canadian Direct Insurance, whom Joshua got to know quite well over the years. In 2017, Krenus approached Brown on starting a local insurance agency, and the pair got right to it - by January of 2018, Alteri was born and had sold its first general insurance policy.

Today, Alteri is home to thousands of clients, and millions in written premium. Joshua has been awarded a 30 Under 30 recipient and a Life Advisor of the Year winner.  Joshua continues to look for ways to grow the agency and has become a recognized name in the industry.
